As class 5A had intended to do a theatre project at the end of the first term, the offer to work with “KREATIV ENGLISH”, who were looking for a trial class to try out a new creative acting format, came right on cue! From the 27th to 30th January, the students worked with two teachers and enjoyed a mix of acting, creating short videos, games, improvisation exercises and of course fun. The class was divided into small teams who were competing against each other in a series of madcap tasks. These tasks were not scored on traditional merit, but more on creativity, thinking outside of the box, having fun, and just enjoying the process.
There were four main elements to each day – An opening task as a warming up exercise, a short video making task, an acting/improv task, and a final task which was usually a madcap game. It was the same style each day, but with different tasks slotting into each category, so it became more and more familiar but also more challenging as the days went on.
The students produced hilarious short films in a very limited time and rehearsed the best sketches for the final show on Thursday, 30th January. They performed for the whole school in the 6th lesson and in the evening for parents and friends. It was a wonderful project and a great experience for the class who profited on many levels.

The whole project was supervised and accompanied by Bettina Stokhammer.
We thank Richard McGarrigle and his team from “KREATIV ENGLISH” from the bottom of our hearts for four very successful, enjoyable but most of all dramatic days!
